“Our aim is not only to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but to so touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core.”

Amy Valela serves as both the Head of School at Peaceful Child Montessori Academy, as well as the lead classroom teacher.
Amy began teaching 22 years ago and has since developed her skills both as a leader and as a teacher. She has served children in several capacities over the years. Her classroom experience includes time as an assistant of special education classrooms. At both the elementary and middle school level. She has served as a classroom assistant and lead teacher in a primary classrooms and has served as a children’s pastor over ages 5-12.
All of this experience, in combination with her role as mother of four has prepared her to lead Peaceful Child Montessori Academy with vision, compassion and integrity.
At PCMA we very much appreciate the feedback and testimonials we receive from our PCMA families.
- Our daughter has blossomed at PCMA! The personalized classroom allowed her to explore her own interests with vigor. Her observant, intentional teachers encouraged her to pursue challenges that broadened her horizons.
- There are a lot of great preschools, but the natural learning that PCMA garners through its Montessori program is incomparable. We could not be more pleased with the skills in independence, responsibility and self-worth our children have gained all while learning their abc's and 123's ... and geography and natural science and art and reading and multiplication and culinary arts ... the list goes on! PCMA is our family's first choice for preschool!
- Peaceful Child Montessori Academy provided my daughter the nurturing environment she needed to learn and grow. She flourished during her time as a student at PCMA. We feel blessed that she was able to attend such an amazing school.
